A Review on a Long, Long Sleep One

Based on Anne Sheehan's book: A Long, Long Sleep. You don't need to have read the book to join this role-play, even I haven't read it. xD My mom just told me about the book. :] It's set in the future, when a special sleep thing called Stasis sleep is invented. (It's where you can be put to sleep in this tube, and be awakened later on in a few weeks, months, years, etc. and still be the same age I guess.

A Long, Long Sleep : The Next Generation

This world in the future used to have a friendly group of young teens who were the greatest of friends. Almost always hanging out as a group, helping each other out, and always laughing and cracking jokes. Nothing could separate the gang...that is...they thought nothing could.
But several dozen years after they all met, there was a terrible massacre in their town...a shooting. And most of the team was wiped out. Dead. Or at least injured horribly.
Rest assured, there was still room for hope. Hope that could rebuild the gang. Hope that could rebuild the town. Hope...for a new generation!!!
*cue wild theme song* xD

-The Team-

These are the stories of what happened to the team over the years, before the shooting.

Jasey

Jasey grew up, still being shy and keeping to herself while working at the cafeteria. But over the years her shyness faded and she was able to accomplish her dream: To become a professional singer. Her audition online for America's Got Talent went very well. The judges loved it. America loved it. And so she was brought to New York, and was on America's Got Talent for a fairly long time. However, in the Finals, she came in second place. But don't let that fool you. She still got a lot of gigs in casinos and restaurants, and finally someone saw her talent. A professional in the singing industry to be precise. He gave her a recording contract, and Jasey became famous with a lot of work over the years, which made her different from other singers, who's fame was just handed over to them.

Morgani

Mani one day decided to give it all she had and publish a book. The book was about her and her friends, and their journey through life. The book was a hit, and the public demanded more. There were movies, cartoons, fan-fictions, and even websites based off of Morgani's books. She started writing books about...well...ANYTHING she could think of! She became very successful, but always used whatever extra time she had to spend with her friends.

Liam

Liam got really into the 60s, and no one really ever heard from him again. Nevertheless, there was always this mysterious hippie guy who was at Emma's various theater plays.

Seth

Seth got really good at sports, and actually played college football. He even got good enough and made it into the major leagues. After playing for several glorious years, he finally retired and decided to coach a team instead.

Emma

Emma was already very good at acting, but she finally made it big, like the rest of her friends. Sometimes she did plays and musicals, and sometimes she actually got a part in movies. There was always a wide grin on her face when she bowed at the end of a play. You could tell she loved what she was doing.

Shayla

Shayla decided to become a beauty specialist, and actually got her own TV show with it. She would style hair, give tips on makeup, and also just do what girls do best...TALK. It was the good life for Shay, and she wouldn't change a thing about it.

Reese

Reese decided, with a lot of support from his friends, to finally show off his talent that he didn't consider so manly: Art. He painted and drew tons of beautiful and amazing artwork, and got rich, quick too. His paintings are now showcased in museums around the world.

Kyle

Kyle just went on being...Kyle. He was always there to support his friends, and never thought he would find what he wanted to do in life. Boy was he wrong. Against all odds, he became a drummer, and performed on stage with Jasey.
Of course, Jasey and he grew up and got married.
The same as how Mani and Reese got married.
And they had kids, whom had kids, whom had kids, whom had kids, whom had kids...until there was an attack. A shooting. And the kids were put into Stasis sleep. Several hard years later, when everyone was safe from attacks, the kids were ready to be woken up. And that's how we get the NEXT GENERATION!!!



Okay, this roleplay is a lot like the last one, where you can have people from the past or people from the future.

People from the past

These are the kids who were put to sleep before the attack. They have to be between the ages of 4 and 18. (Note, they stay the same age in Stasis sleep.)

If your character is from the past, your first post should be them waking up from Stasis sleep. Someone needs to wake them up, however.

People from the future

These are kids who weren't put to sleep, and either survived the attack or were just born and grew up to be any age you want...as long as they're old enough to go to school.

Personality: Melanie usually keeps to herself. She normally has her nose buried in a book, reading or writing a song lyric. Melanie doesn't quite get along well with others, as she comes off as a very intelligent know-it-all. In the past, Melanie never really had any friends;; but she considered book characters her friends. It was sad, yes, but her grades were always the top in the class. She often thinks before she reacts, always generating a plan in her mind. Melanie isn't really afraid to stand up for someone-- if she thinks it's best for them. Most people who don't meet Mellie think that she is just a bossy know it-all, but if you get to know her, you'd realize that she's just a witty, clever person with a big heart. :'3

Looks: Charlie's hair is dyed an orange/red color, overlapping her usually dirty blonde hair. She usually dyes it a different color every few months, but after receiving lots of compliments on her red hair, she's decided to keep it this way. Charlie has light green eyes, that from far away seem like an ugly yellow/gold color, covered with thick 'hipster' butt. Her skin is relatively pale, and after spending 10 minutes in the morning layering makeup on, it becomes clear and flawless. Personality: Charlie usually goes around as the 'troublemaker' or 'butt clown'. She's always poking fun at everyone and everything, always trying to use sarcasm and humor in the worst of situations. Heck, at her grandfather's funeral Charlie was practically dying in front of the microphone herself, making wisecracks and jokes---much to her mom's disappointment. Charlie has no earthly idea on how to take things seriously. If you told her she has 5 days to live, she'd laugh in your face, and run off laughing still. She's a bit, well, stubborn. When she gets an opinion, and if you try to change it, she'll roll her eyes, cross her arms, and tell you off immediately. Charlie is very confident, as well. She has no problem whatsoever flaunting her body, and usually teasingly 'seducing' the people she knows are very shy, trying to make them uncomfortable.

Looks: Jade's light auburn hair is in beachy waves, usually looking very tangled and messy. She's given up trying to tame her curls, usually just letting them hang down to her shoulders as always. Her eyes are an innocent-looking blue, looking almost like a child's, that always seem to be wandering and moving, staring at some point in space. Jade has a light spray of freckles across her nose. Personality: She is the definition of innocent. Jade is like a little child you don't want to hurt. She usually reminds people of a 12 year old, still so fresh and innocent in the world. And she is. When she's sad or frightened, Jade slams her hands over her ears, like shes crushing her skull. There's a reason, for this, though. When she was younger, Jade witnessed her dad being shot through the head---dead in an instant. She went... well, insane. Jade claimed to see ghosts, to see images, really. She'll start laughing at random times, or spacing off into the air, her hands shaking. After years of therapy, her mom still believes she can go back to normal. Jade depends on her mom more than anything. Due to lack of friends, her mom was her best friend. They did everything together, and during her 'segments', her mom would just whisper things to her to calm her down, and Jade would go back to normal... Or, as normal as she can be.
