trying out for a sport D:

Post by Guest on Mon Sep 30, 2013 7:00 pm

i really want to try out for my school's basketball team this year. i've played on a team once before, and i wasn't spectacular or anything, but i wasn't dreadful.

the thing is: our coaches play favorites. you can already tell who's going to make the team. aka;: the popular girls.

i'm seriously terrified of showing up to the tryouts, and being the worst one there, to the point i'm the only one who doesn't make the team. i'm so scared i'll mess up a shot everyone else makes, i won't be a great dribbler, or i'll just be awful in general.

but i really want to play..
i don't get as much as exercise as i probably should be, and i really like playing basketball, so i think it'd be good for me to play it.. but i'm just so scared. the last thing i need is people making fun of me because i didn't make the team.

any tips? L:

My advice is...just don't care about what other people think. I mean, I know this sounds utterly cliche and cheesy but, really, it works.

I mean, whenever I try to show off or know that someone is watching me and think about that, I screw up. But that person turns their back, and I'm a freaking all star. You just gotta basically block any other people around you out of your mind. I know it's really hard, but it helps. It's weird, but yeah.
It's really awful of the coach to play favorites...believe me, I hate it when the teachers play favorites. I mean, usually I'm a favorite, so it doesn't matter (xD), but when some new kid comes along and, oh I don't know, knows every single freaking answer to every single freaking question and is a perfect mc perfect poop and the teacher falls in love with that ugly little weird fart...then I get really, really mad. o-o
Hm...it's too bad there's not a pig with an apple in it's mouth you can shoot the basketball through.. but maybe try and be different somehow..? I dunno. I mean, I fail at making people like me so...tough situation there.

Just practice, try your hardest, and don't care about other people. They suck, okay? They're morons, and they're just in your way to the finish line. Just swat them outta the way and slap this tryout in the face.

Be confident. It doesn't matter what they think. If you make it, good. If you don't, at least you tried.

Actually...yeah! That could work. Just tell your friends you were just trollin' the coach or something. xD IDK come up with something funny
